We are delighted to announce that we have won the Education and Learning Category award in this year’s Living Waterways Awards.The award was for the work done at Hirst Lock for the Bi-Centenary of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and especially for the partnership with Saltaire Primary SchoolPupils used the Bi-Centenary to study the canal, past and present, and with the guidance of local artist Sharon Snaylam, they produced the wonderful mural which has become such an admired part of Hirst LockThe trophy was presented at a gala dinner in Birmingham, hosted by the bard of Barnsley, Ian McMillan.
